Thanks for your view, but maybe there is a misunderstanding.

I was trying to see this from a beginners point of view. I do not believe a beginner would think the current behaviour is the least disturbing option. I think that new users should be distracted as little as possible since it is much to learn in the beginning.

So the real problem I am trying to help with is how to make it easier for new users to start to use Emacs.
