I would welcome a clean solution for tags alignment. Ideally, one could switch from the current (manual) alignment, which tries to align to a fixed column, while allowing to switch to a more visually consistent alignement in variable-pitch-mode.
But this need to be done *without* slowing done big Org files, which is probably a challenge.
