While not universal, you might consider providing a container image that contains the necessary dependencies packaged together to simplify configuration and setup if there is complexity. That also tends to make it easier for people to upgrade if dependency versions need to change. I've done this a lot with build images and other custom tool images. It does mean you need some sort of container runtime, but those are freely available for a lot of operating systems (although not all) these days.
