Last year I asked about a template expansion feature in Org capture. This patch was then applied: https://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/emacs-orgmode/2024-06/msg00057.html I recently noticed that it stopped working. As I've moved from straight.el to package.el, I thought I'd made some loading mistake. I then looked into GNU ELPA current Org-mode version 9.7.29 (9.7.29-79781b) and those changes are in fact not there. To double check, I also manually downloaded the tar file available at ELPA and org-capture.el is indeed different. On the other hand, the current Git version correctly has the patch applied as expected. I understand that ELPA version is not in sync with the most recent commits, but this is a patch applied many months ago. I'm not sure if there are differences in other files too. Best, Bruno.
