I didn't start out with this idea, but it does seem like a useful feature to allow previewing to be disabled for certain environment types. "figure" is an example -- previewing it with dvisvgm (the default) will almost always fail. (Normally previewing \begin{figure}...\end{figure} is avoided by using org links instead or by placing the figure environment in an export latex block.) I'll circle back to this after org-latex-preview is merged. I'll make the naming changes some time this week, after Timothy takes a look at the suggestions. Karthik
