Note that https://orgmode.org does provide info about out Sourcehut
mirror (regularly updated). It also uses more stable savannah server
URL.

I wasn't aware of a Sourcehut mirror (just realized that reading the other thread), thanks for updating the docs!

In addition, I noticed that there are:

which could end up being confusing if one day they get populated with sources not "vetted" by the project.

Well. But what can we do? It is not like Org mode endorses or uses
github.

Ok then first let me ask a question: are these mirrors official or just Bastien's initiatives? Both the GitHub and Sourcehut repos are under his handle. But one is now in the documentation and the other one not.

Of course we cannot block a third-party on GitHub from impersonating the orgmode organization, that's too late now. What we /can/ do is pinning in the documentation the official mirrors and hint where users should go.

Speaking of mirrors: https://codeberg.org/{org-mode,orgmode} are both still free. Following the same reasoning, would it make sense setting foot there as well? I hope that for Codeberg there are no licensing concerns.
