p.s.: I made this patch for the purpose of rendering environments that are not supported by MathJax as images, without being annoyed by redefining all the macros. But later, I figured out a better solution that utilizes the async org-latex-preview, so I'm not sure about whether this patch is still that valuable. p.p.s.: People who are interested may want to check: https://github.com/szch79/org-html-tex2svg. In short, it's superior than rendering images directly because in that way: 1) it's really slow; 2) you lose preview.
