Generally, I'm also overwhelmed by long FAQs, but still prefer the whole thing to be searchable, instead of me needing to click on headings only to see, if the answer is helpful at all. Since the old FAQ features the contents thingy at the side, even this mode of operation is somehow supported. ATM some of the text snippets are truncated, e.g.: https://bzg.fr/org-faq/?category=Errors+and+general+problems#external-application-launched-to-open-file-link vs https://orgmode.org/worg/org-faq.html#external-application-launched-to-open-file-link Your proposal does not show hierarchical numbering, making it difficult to reference the FAQ in writing (I see the numbers might change over time, though).
