I successfully applied the patch and added ("\\section{%s}" ."\\section*{%s}") 
to my init. The sectioning was fixed and the compliance increased to 99% on 
Canvas LMS. I am very happy ...

I personally have not anything but sections for my talks and course slides.

I moved my test file to using #+LATEX_CLASS_PRE and I really like that idea. 
Tagging should be specific to the file, not generic in the init file.

Given that ltx-talk is still in its early phases as well, I am impressed in how 
functional your preliminary exporter and the LaTeX package are in concert. Next 
step: I need to see if I can adapt my beamer theme to ltx-talk.
