On Emacs 30.2 (Debian, tested in GHOME and sway) and with org-modes:

- Org mode version 9.7.11 (release_9.7.11 @
  /usr/local/share/emacs/30.2/lisp/org/)
- Org mode version 10.0-pre (release_9.8.8-350-ge186e4 @
  /home/egirl/clones/org-mode/lisp/)

I'm not seeing the cursor in windowed mode, even with emacs -Q
