Well it doesn't break support for me I think. I'm on wayland +
pgtk + my specific hardware though. This bug report specifically
mentions NS/macOS and I have no idea how it would work there.
Do you want me to just push the attached patch, close this
issue, and walk away? That's what I'm leaning towards.
I think we can push the patch at least. Whether we want to do
more - up to you and what you think is useful to spend time on.
I think in the long term it would be useful to migrate to a menu
library (like transient) so Org mode doesn't have to deal with
this maintenance burden.
In the short term I'm OK with just applying this patch. So I will
do that.
