Your analysis makes a lot of sense (somehow looking at what LaTeX knowledge the user has, if he writes `longtabu' in his document). However, I am undecided about doing it the way you propose here above, and having "all" of them included by default. Hence, I'll be happy with whichever proposition you apply.
