I don't think so: I can reproduce it. It seems to be caused by the mixed-case variable name. If I change "Idir" to "idir", it does not happen. Not sure how the replacement happens, but it seems suspiciously similar to the behavior of replace-match when the FIXEDCASE argument is nil (or absent perhaps?) -- Nick
