Thanks for this. It didn't work but I have now figured out why! Your code requires dash version 2.6.0 and I had version 2.4.0. The need for the latest version is noted in a comment in your code but the code itself doesn't check (and probably cannot?). With 2.6.0, I'm much further! Links are now recognised properly. I still have a problem in that a very minimal file, with one cite: link and a bibliography: link, doesn't compile because bibtex complains of no \bibstyle.
