I think behavior like text mode should be available in Emacs-Lisp mode
and other modes where it is likely to be useful!
As an abstract suggestion, I am in favor of it.
If someone wants to implement it, please do.
However, this is a new feature, so we would not install
it until after the coming release.
Right now, let's focus on getting the release ready.
