Yes, this works fine between emacsen, but not between Emacs and another
X application (usual use case: pasting some text from an email in Gnus
[without moving the point/cursor to this emails], and copying it in
another app). So the problems seems to be that M-mouse-1 doesn't put the
selection in the X clipboard any more (I am sure this used to work a few
weeks ago).
