Because I just compiled a fresh CVS checkout of Emacs and still see
the problem and haven't found a check-in by Stefan related to the
problem, I am a bit unsure whom you are referring to. Should it be
fixed in Emacs or AUCTeX?
I think we're talking about a fix in Emacs. The question is where. I
think the fix should be in the command to exit the minibuffer.
That is a localized change rather than a broad-reaching change.
