I enable recentf in my .emacs, if I have recently (in the last emacs
session) edited a file such as /su:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/var/log/syslog
(via tramp) on starting emacs I get asked for a password - I assume it
is checking for the file's existence (I realise there's a possible
debate as to whether or not this is a good thing!)
However the password prompt is just 'Password:' with no indication of
the user, so if I had recently edited
/su:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/.emacs and
/su:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/.emacs
I get two password prompts with no visible indication which is which!
I suggest the prompt ought to read when using su as a method and a
password is necessary (when starting up or maybe by default) -
su:<user>@hostname Password:
