The Emacs manual says: > These buffers don't work entirely like ordinary Dired buffers. File > operations work, but do not always automatically update the buffer.
Well they did with 21.3 (at least for deletion). So I think the manual is documenting a regression. > Reverting the buffer with `g' deletes all inserted subdirectories, and > erases all flags and marks. This generally requires root permissions. If the buffer is not going to automatically update, it might be better just to get this to run locate again (rather than update the database).
