While I understand the motivation for this, one problem is that it gives the impression that for some reason the files specified on the command-line didn't "take". I think it would be good if there was some obvious indicator on the splash screen that would make the true state of affairs obvious. For instance, what about a line following the big logo picture like: Files to be visited: foo.c bar.c Or: Command to be executed: gnus anyway, you get the idea.
