Pick a variable in loaddefs.el e.g. warning-type-format.
Do C-h v on it. The *Help* buffer says:
warning-type-format is a variable defined in `C source code'.
Its actually defined in warnings.el
Clicking on the link gives:
Search failed: " Vwarning-type-format
It does not fail for me.
It happens on my system.
