I have tried using Transient-Mark mode occasionally, most recently in
the past week. It screws me because I use commands that operate on a
region, in situations where normally they would work, but the mark is
not active.
Some time after the release, if someone wants to try to work on
improving this, I could give it another try and note down the precise
details.
