There is no reason to talk about the third list. That is an internal
implementation detail.
Maybe in the same way as `image-file-name-extensions' is used to specify
image file name suffixes, the name of a new variable should be
`load-file-name-suffixes'?
That name does not fit the new variable we are adding, so it is not
useful for solving this problem.
