I never created the branch because the guy who wanted to hack on it
didn't actually have CVS write access, so it didn't seem useful (might
as well just apply the diff to his own sources), and he didn't seem to
be an arch user.
I'm happy to create and maintain a branch if it's useful for something though.
I think it would be useful, as unicode is the way forward for Emacs. The old
XFT branch could then be closed/removed. So if you can find the time to
create the branchm that would be great.
