In the top info menu, we type mysTAB

As the cursor is left at the end of line instead of moving further to
the right like bash does on successful only match completions, _we must
hit tab again_ to find

I do not follow what you mean.
Same problem with find-file.
Please give a precise self-contained test case for this.
