It already does, right in the beginning:
"Killing" means erasing text and copying it into the "kill
ring", from
which you can bring it back into the buffer by "yanking" it. (Some
systems use the terms "cutting" and "pasting" for these operations.)
Is it possible that you are looking at a stale version of the manual?
If not, please tell how come you didn't see this text.
Sorry, my bad. I have several versions of Emacs, and I thought I was looking
at a recent version for this, but I was apparently not. No bug.
