I thought that you compared the execution time of the latest
one againt the old one.
Sorry for the confusion. I wrote that in the context of the FIXME comment in
describe-function-1, in response to Richard's message that the FIXME change
had perhaps already been made and the comment was therefore obsolete:
It looks like this change was already made and the comment is
obsolete.
I compared only the source code of describe-function-1, to see if the FIXME
had been fixed. Your fix was actually made elsewhere.
Sorry about that. Thanks again for paring down the bindings of
self-insert-command.
