I have this sometimes: a dormant Emacs will suddenly eat CPU like
mad. I just compiled a fresh Emacs, so the bug is apparently still
present.
Could it be stealth fontification?
Well, xbacktrace did not display anything, here is the output of the
backtrace command:
Please follow the advice in etc/DEBUG for when Emacs is looping.
That way you could track down what's happening.
