Or maybe they'd be willing to improve the "feature" so that it also sets the
mode-line-inactive face.
This feature sets the mode-line face based on a very general color
parameter of themes. That parameter is not specifically for Emacs.
Unless they were to give themes a very specific parameter just for
mode-line-inactive, there is no way they could do this and get good
results.
What we want to ask them to do is NOT specify mode-line in Emacs.
To leave it alone.
