Then what about using a Help key to display the additional information?
It sounds like more trouble than it is worth. Many questions Emacs asks can be disabled or made less frequent by setting options. I do not want to start making all of them display info about those options. That would be a lot of work, and not worth the trouble. (And we have more important things to do.) I don't mind adding a feature that tells y-or-n-p and yes-or-no-p a help string to can display for C-h. (Tho it's a bit harder to do this in yes-or-no-p, since it is a normal minibuffer.)
