If it helps, I see the "TERM = (...) " prompt on IRIX and Digital Unix.

Yes, I would go with "dumb" as the response.
The worst thing that could happen is that you'd get an error message that
says "Type dumb unknown". You'll still get a shell prompt in my testing.
