(My 2c) I went the opposite route: tried many of them, but came to the conclusion that _all_ of them were too distracting (the least bad one was when I'd hacked icomplete/fido to make sure of completing only on TAB). Story: At one point my screen had got damaged just enough to blacken the last terminal row (with the minibuffer) so that I had to rely on the first RET being unyielding (due to the "[Confirm]") to force myself to TAB alternatives, or, in searching with C-r/s, not returning any results (the highlighting of a positive match was still slightly visible - the first two pixel rows). It was one of the most productive I'd ever been: the names of irrelevant files/buffers not stealing attention from the task at hand - so much so that I switched to "emacs -nw" as a default since then: every package I've worked on [1] has an ulterior motive of furthering GUI-less operation as well (the avoidance of video-watching temptations, the snappiness etc. are a bonus). -- 1: codeberg.org/quotuva --- via emacs-tangents mailing list (https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/emacs-tangents)
