I have just searched the archives and found a similar problem that I
can reproduce.  It involves the planner-appt appointments section
updating, so at least things ought to work if you have
planner-appt-task-use-appointments-section-flag set to t and you set
it to nil.

In the mean-time, I while try to find out what is going wrong there.
