Yeah, that would not work so well, due to various issues. But I am very sympathetic to this problem.(I use [email protected] for tons of things, not only to avoid spam but to make sure that some things get through the spam filters.) Simple solution: allow direct editing of the From address. There used to be a nice "Set Sender..." script for Mail, but it broke in some point update.
