What are the requirements, Neville? What is it that you think is broken? What are the problems? Schedules? They will initiate a connection, as will any TCP/IP request, if you check "connect automatically" under advanced settings in the PPP tab in network preferences. There you can also set it to disconnect after a period of network inactivity. Don't leave webpages open in your browser, not even with the browser offline, or commercials are bound to do an update after a few minutes and initiate a connection every time. I guess one could also make a script, but I'm not very interested in this problem as I don't regard it as one. I imagine a chron job - aren't there GUI's for chron? - starting Emailer and letting it do it's thing once a day/night, would work fine.
