I'm using both apps as you described (Mail in Jaguar, eMailer in classic environment) in anticipation of ditching AOL. Much as it pains me to say it, I still find the overpriced, historically Mac-unfriendly AOL useful as I travel. There's a wealth of local dial-up numbers associated with the AOL behemoth. The mac.com environment is terrible. I'm able to send mac.com mail (using the OS X Mail app) about one message out of every six. STMP hurdles, I guess, but If it didn't send at all, that would be a lot easier to understand. In fact, I'm having to send this response via eMailer because mac.com's server refused it with OS X's Mail app. I believe mac.com is strictly for masochists. So, yes, you can still use both as long as you don't mind running eMailer from the (mostly transparent) Classic environment.
