There's a script somewhere that performs batch search/replace in the selected messages subjects. The subject is handled easily in AppleScript, like any other message attribute except the attachments (I couldn't find a way to forge incoming messages with attachments in Emailer, or even get the displayed name of attachments if they're not accessible, and that annoys me a lot).
