YOU are now my hero!!! I was able to retrieve this message from an old 
Mail Database when my current one BLEW UP under Jaguar. (Note: this is 
also a warning to all. CE was acting strangely, got confused when trying 
to unpack messages and froze, then upon restart, came back with a message 
 that said that the Mail Database was created with a more recent and 
incompatible version of CE. I am using CE 2.0 v3. There is nothing more 
recent.)

I had tried everything and was in the midst of despairing when I came 
across the above suggestion -- and IT WORKED and saved virtually 
everything in tact.
