The "Email Account" is what bears the POP settings. I'm well aware of 
that. This is not one of those fancy domain accounts, of which I have 
many, that must use the % sign in them. This is a plain old 
mail.attbi.com account, where the word "mail" is the verbiage for all.

Emailer can connect 90% of the time but not when their server is busy or 
the mailbox is "unavailable". Obviously. That is the message I get.

No authentication option was necessary. Not being used in OE either! 
(Here here, I am not that stupid!)

I have tried using the IP numbers and so far the failure rate for the 
first one is about equal to the server name being used. I have yet to try 
the others.

This is retrieval, never a problem sending.

Yes, you forgot to say what to do when OE gives no message at all...but 
fails to retrieve the mail.
