Michelle, get reading glasses prescribed to focus at the exact distance 
of your
monitor.  I told my optometrist to make me a pair to focus at 20 inches.  
He said,
"Piece of cake.  It's just a mathematical calculation from your regular
prescription.  No new exam required."

Someone who's at the computer as much as you are should have a dedicated 
pair of
glasses.  Undoubtedly tax deductible as a business expense.

This pair of mine is also great for playing the piano and for most 
deskwork and
reading.  My #1 glasses are Varilux, but they don't cut the mustard for 
close
work which is at eye level such as the computer.

This old age is hell.
