>(Would it get AOL mail?) You can pretty much go with the reality that nothing outside of AOL owned software will ever again be able to get AOL mail on a computer (PDA's, phones, and similar items are a different issue).
They have considerable income tied to their advertising, so they want to control who sees it, how they see it, and when they see it. And this isn't even "speculation" on their motives anymore... they freely admit this in one of their FAQs. Because of this income, it is a fairly safe bet that if someone WERE to find a way to connect to their mail servers, and get AOL mail, they would probably find themselves getting a nice letter from AOL legal telling them to cut it out.
