Hi everyone I just wanted to share with you a tale...
One of the things that's most appealing to me about switching away from Emailer is the automatic spam filtering on new-gen email clients. Well when I saw that Spam Sieve added true bayesian filtering to Emailer, man I jumped on it! http://www.c-command.com/spamsieve/ Michael Tsai wrote an app and custom AppleScripts to work with Emailer, Entourage, Eudora 5.2, Mailsmith, and PowerMail. As to be expected, some apps integrate with it a little better than others. Turns out it has a few problems with Emailer. For some reason, when attempting to add messages, the Corpus (which stores the filtering criteria) wouldn't grow. The scripts would run, and SpamSieve would mark messages if it thought they were spam, but it wasn't very accurate because I couldn't train it with enough messages to guarantee accuracy. So I emailed Michael Tsai (the developer) about the problem. He never took more than a day to get back to me during this whole process! Absolutely awesome support. I would try his suggestions, and send new results. He wrote a test version of a script to enable me to send him messages. Then I sent him copies of my database and Corpus. Within a few days of contact, he had solved the problem and sent me a beta version!! So if anyone's been looking for a spam filter and another reason to keep Emailer for awhile longer, this is a great one. Check out SpamSieve...and don't forget to register it. :-) Michael ============================================================ B U R N I N G C H R O M E D I G I T A L M E D I A Michael Black 3645 Madrid Circle Norcross, GA 30092 404-386-5548 [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
