>Office X exists an with the update is reasonably stable (better than 98) >Filemaker 6(?) exists and is I beleive X native >Distiller is NOT needed any more - >print -> select save to PDF -> OK >done > >that leaves emailer - >oh well... uess classic will be with us for a while ; ) Your comments are all valid, Chip. But I find the investment in the new computer is only the beginning - software upgrades, new equipment to replace all of the SCSI devices, time on new learning curve... So getting out of "Classic" is not my top priority yet. The save to PDF only works in OSX, not classic. The print to pdf shareware chooser extension works for simple things, but is inferior to distilled postscript files. Does any use Excel vX and the save to PDF? Do you get only one pdf file from "printing" multiple worksheets? (Excel 2001 & earlier creates a separate postscript file for each worksheet.) FWIW, I find booting in OS9 the computer (iBook, 800mHz G3) is much faster; that's the mode I use when trying to get serious work done. - Charlie ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
