I mentioned earlier that I was experiencing a strange bug under X.2.3 that caused my Emailer 2.0v1 (French) to quit when left unattended in the background, and sometimes refuse to relaunch until rebooted to OS 9.
I found that it only happens when using DHCP (in the network prefpane). Or maybe it is when there's no DNS server specified because my router/DHCP server handles that. Or maybe it is because OS X and OS 9 TCP/IP settings didn't match. Or maybe it is because I currently have 2 cascading routers/firewalls (one being an Asante router, the other being an Alcatel SpeedTouch Home ADSL modem hacked to activate its router features, which I needed before getting the real router and didn't bother reverting since). Anyways, manually setting TCP/IP (DNS and IP address) cured the symptoms. What is strange is that the bug would not only happen during scheduled connections, but also at startup, before even displaying the browser window (I didn't think Emailer did any networking then). ---- VRic ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
