I'm aware of two problems with AppleScripts run from CE in classic. 1: If you create an applescript from scratch in OS X, it won't run from CE. To get around this, open an existing working CE applescript, save it under a new name, then delete the script and write in yours. 2: CE based Applescripts (and this may be more than just CE run ones) can't seem to fire certain "do shell script" commands. I didn't play with it enough to figure out exactly what it can and can not do, but some stuff fails (in particular, deleting of files). Again, this might not be a CE issue, but rather a Classic issue, or maybe neither and I just did something wrong. There may be other things, but I don't know of anything preventing you from having CE run an applescript that dials the modem, checks your mail, then hangs up. Just be aware of the gotcha #1 and you'll probably be fine. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
