Programs which use shared libraries will try to find them in the program's own folder as well as in the Extensions folder. For example, if the program is in a folder called "Macintosh HD/PPViewer/", it will look for the libraries there. Here is what I do (it's simpler than it sounds): 1) Make a backup copy of the Extensions folder. 2) Before installing the "older" software, I go into the Extensions folder, select all files, and give them all a label (e.g. Edit menu > Select All followed by File Menu > Label > Essential). 3) Install the older software. If it installed any shared libraries, they won't have a label. Move the unlabelled shared libraries into the program's folder (e.g. "Macintosh HD/PPViewer/"). Be careful only to move "libraries" and not true extensions, as extensions will only run from the System folder. 4) You can now move the original shared library files from your backup extensions folder into the real extensions folder. 5) If all went well, you won't need to run the "first run" after every time you fire up the viewer.
