I think this might be covered on the macemail.com web site. Lets have a 
look... they state the following:

So maybe your original installer is some screwy version that was slightly 
modified so that Apple could tell it came from the company that you 
bought it from. Might make some sense since you bought it from a download 
site. Apple would have little other way of tracking Emailer back to that 
company should there suddenly have been 50,000 copies of Emailer flying 
around and Apple is seeing sales of only 4 copies.
