I am running X, and, when I checked, I did have some files in the Temp Incoming. So I followed your delete recommendations. I had been told about DS_Store files so I already had a little app called DS_ Store Cleaner: drag the file over and it deletes and reports how many. It's also very helpful to know how DS files are created. I've tried "quit and restart" until the files are done. then what seems to happen is that when I connect, it finds no mail at all. But if I do a quit/restart, sure enough in unpacks emails at startup without even connecting again. I'm really stumped.
