Dear List-ers, This is more or less a re-posting of my recent message (with "was" subject). I do this to get the subject more suited, and to advise:
* the first script "Rename attachments" will now run on multiple selected messages, as well as on an open message window. (This was revised and uploaded again w/in a few hours of first upload, so if you don't have "Skip this file" choice in rename dialog, please download files again.) Thanks for your patience! - dan ------------------ I mentioned some attachment-renamer scripts I'd written, and have uploaded two for your inspection and use: <http://danfeather.com/down/ce_rename_attachments.hqx> Both scripts developed and tested with OS 9. Please notify me of errors in other OS and I will revise to suit. About the scripts: * Rename attachments: This script will rename the attachments to the currently open message (or, in a browser window, in all selected messages). It displays a dialog that will initially show the current name of the attached file, and the user can edit the text or supply a new name (or choose to skip renaming a given file). This dialog is displayed for each attached file. * Rename attached HTML w selection: This script will rename an attached HTML file based on the user's text selection. New filename is selected text + date code + ".htm" If there is no text selected, user is asked to supply base name, which is then used as above, as if it were the selected text. (Note that the selected text can be from the "Subject" field, or from the message body. I most often use it with a keyword from the "Subject" field.) Enjoy! (and request/suggest more), - Dan + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + Dan Feather [EMAIL PROTECTED] 615-385-2812 AppleScript solutions for Macintosh applications Website and product development and testing Desktop publishing and prepress services + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
