NO real way to avoid it but you can clean it up by using the AppleScript" 
Strip html with Tex-Edit Plus".  I can send it if you cannot find it as I 
don't remember offhand where it has been uploaded.  You will need to 
download Tex-Edit for OS X or Classic as appropriate.
